Rajbari, Apr 04 (V7N) – As the joyous celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr draw to a close, people are steadily making their way back to cities and workplaces, with Daulatdia ferry terminal in Rajbari witnessing a noticeable rise in returning passengers since Friday morning.
Unlike previous years marked by severe traffic jams and travel woes, this year’s Eid return journey is proving to be remarkably smooth and hassle-free, thanks to improved traffic management and increased ferry services.
Despite the heavy influx of passengers and vehicles from the southern regions of the country, there have been no reports of congestion or delays. Travellers arriving at the terminal are boarding ferries without long waits, a sharp contrast to the often chaotic scenes of past holiday returns.
Passengers expressed satisfaction over the arrangements. “This year’s Eid journey was much more comfortable than before,” said a returning traveller. “We didn’t face any trouble on the roads or at the pier.”
Mohammad Salahuddin, Manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Daulatdia Ghat, confirmed that seventeen ferries are currently operating on the Daulatdia-Paturia route, ensuring smooth passage for all vehicles and passengers.
“Thanks to the proper coordination among the agencies and timely deployment of ferries, people are able to return to their destinations without any suffering,” Salahuddin said.
The government’s efforts in traffic control, ferry management, and infrastructure readiness have drawn appreciation from the public. The Daulatdia Ghat, a key gateway for southern Bangladesh, stands as a shining example of effective holiday travel management this year.
With the comfortable and efficient return journey, the public is hopeful that such positive experiences will become the new standard for future festivals and national holidays.
