"Bengali songs, dances, recitations, plays, and slogans were performed on the District Commissioner's (DC) hill to celebrate the start of the Bengali New Year.
 
With the theme "Let Bengalis Unite in Celebration of Pohela Boishakh," the celebrations kicked out at first light on Sunday, April 14.
 
As the day wore on, the streets were increasingly crowded with people attending the first celebration of Bangladesh's traditional New Year, many of them were decked in vibrant clothes.Pohela Boishakh is much anticipated this year, as seen by the greater zeal of Bengalis to make the most of the celebrations, which delight people of all ages.
 
Everyone, from young children to the elderly, is engrossed in the joyous celebration mood, bridging gaps with smiles and laughing.
 
To guarantee broad involvement, other cultural organisations in Chittagong took part in events throughout the day in addition to music and dance.
 
Additionally, Chittagong University's Fine Arts Institute has planned a unique programme that incorporates the timeless spirit of Bengali culture into the New Year's celebration."Honouring Bengal in a New Light" is the slogan used. 
 
On Sunday, April 14, at 9:00 am, a vibrant procession got underway in front of the Fine Arts Institute.
 
Before coming to an end at the Fine Arts Institute, the procession passed through Chatteshwari Mor, Almas Mor, Kajir Dewri Mor, SS Khalid Road, Press Club U-turn, and Sarson Road.
 
In keeping with tradition, the procession path this year was decorated with a variety of symbolic animals and birds, which enhanced the joyous atmosphere.
