In a tragic incident at a private hospital known as Chittagong Medical Center, a child's death has sparked violence against a doctor by the patient's relatives. The incident occurred on Sunday, April 14th, leading to the arrest of one individual by the police.

According to reports, on Saturday night, at 10:00 PM, a child was admitted to the NICU of Chittagong Medical Center Hospital with complications related to bronchopneumonia.
Unfortunately, the child passed away at 9:00 AM on Sunday.

Following the child's death, relatives of the patient attacked Dr. Riaz Uddin, causing serious injuries.Confirming the incident, Manager Mohammad Yasin Arafat of Chittagong Medical Center stated that the child was admitted from the BM Depo, Sitakunda area.

After the child's demise, the relatives assaulted the doctor responsible for the treatment. Dr. Riaz Uddin sustained severe injuries and was subsequently admitted to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital's ICU, bed number 15.

"We have informed the BMA leaders about the matter. We are preparing to take action on this incident. Until the final report is received, the police have arrested one person in connection with the incident," stated Mohammad Yasin Arafat.

Additionally, The President of the Chattogram branch of the Bangladesh Medical Association(BMA), Professor Dr. Mujibul Haq Khan, along with the General Secretary , Dr. Mohammed Faysal Iqbal Chowdhury, issued a joint statement condemning the vicious assault on duty-bound physicians. Dr. Riyaz Uddin Shibli, at Chattogram Medical Center Hospital, and Dr. Raktim Dash, at Patiya General Hospital, have expressed profound condemnation, anger, and disdain for the barbaric attacks by unidentified assailants on the relatives of patients.

They demand swift and stringent legal action against the culprits and accomplices involved in the heinous assaults by terrorist groups, both directly and indirectly.

They assert that unless the perpetrators of the attacks are apprehended within the next 24 hours, otherwise they will be compelled to take the most severe measures, such as a complete cessation of all medical services.
