The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has extended its order for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to maintain the status quo on evictions at Mironjilla Colony until further notice. The court also directed the High Court to resolve a writ petition challenging the eviction within two months.

The Harijan community, who have lived in the colony for years, protested against the DSCC's plan to build a modern kitchen market in part of the colony. The High Court previously ordered a one-month status quo and mandated DSCC to arrange accommodation for affected residents.
