Mohammad Noor, a farmer of Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar, was freed from the kidnappers by paying a ransom of Tk 5 lakh. Earlier, the 4 farmers who were held hostage with him were released in exchange of 1 lakh 20 thousand taka, but the abductors kept him hostage for a ransom of 5 lakh taka.

Four of 5 kidnapped farmers have returned

The released person is Mohammad Noor son of Abdur Rahim of Hnila Pankhali area in Teknaf Cox's Bazar.
On Sunday night (March 24), the abductors released him from Shamlapur of Teknaf's Baharchara Union after receiving the ransom, and he returned home from there. RAB later took him for questioning.

Hossain Ahmed, UP member of Hnila Union Parishad, confirmed the matter. He said that he was held hostage for a ransom of 5 lakh.
After paying a ransom of 5 lakh taka he returned home. He also said that they took this money from different family members to save their son's life.

Five farmers are missing in Teknaf

Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammed Osman Gani said that a farmer who was held hostage by the abductors has returned home.
