Ten Bangladeshi fisherman were quietly fishing in the Naf river when the Arakan Army (AA) reportedly kidnapped them from the Thaingkhali border hamlet of Ukhiya in Cox's Bazar Bangladesh. This is a startling occurrence. Both local authorities and citizens are extremely concerned about the event, which happened at the Rahmaterbill boundary in Palangkhali Union at 8 am on Wednesday, (May 1)

Palongkhali Union Parishad Chairman M. Gafur Uddin Chowdhury confirmed the kidnapping exclusively to Voice7 News, stating that fisherman on the Bangladeshi side of the Naf River were forcibly removed by Arakan Army ( AA) personnel.
The Arakan Army( AA) has taken our fishermen captive, mainly because the Myanmar side of the Rahmat Bill boundary is devoid of any government soldiers. When the battle broke out, those who were there fled to Bangladesh. At this moment, the Arakan Army controls the Rahamoterbill region.

Furthermore disclosed that he has received corroborative information from multiple sources, indicating the involvement of the Arakan Army in the abduction of the Bangladeshi fishermen.he added.
Speaking exclusively to Voice7 News, Upazila Executive Officer (Ukhiya) Md Tanvir Hossain emphasized the urgency of the situation, revealing that the matter was promptly reported to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) last night. Efforts for the rescue of the abducted fishermen have been initiated, with higher authorities being informed to expedite the process.

The abducted fishermen, identified as Saiful Islam, Abdur Rahman, Ayubul Islam, Md. Sohan, Jane Alam, Abdur Rahim, Anwar, Osman Goni, Abul Hashem, and Md. Osman, hail from different areas within Palangkhali Union in Ukhiya Their families are understandably distraught and have fervently appealed for their safe return.
