In Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) retrieved three lakh Yaba. These narcotics were found in the Jinnahkhal section of the Naf river in the Teknaf early on Friday, February 9. They were unable to make any arrests in this instance, though. Lt. Col. Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, the captain of Teknaf Battalion (2 BGB), verified the information.

He said, on the basis of secret information, it is known that a consignment of drugs may be smuggled from Myanmar to Bangladesh through Jinnahkhal area of Naf river. BGB is in a strategic position in that news. At 10:30 am on Friday, the BGB patrol saw four persons in an engine-driven wooden boat crossing the zero line along the border and unloading some sacks from the boat.

When they were challenged, they sensed the presence of the BGB patrol and fled to Myanmar. Later, 3 lakh pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from two plastic sacks left by the smugglers from that place.
The official of BGB said that legal action is under process.
