RAJSHAHI, NOV 02, V7N- Vegetable prices in Rajshahi's markets have shown a slight decrease this week, though buyers are not feeling much relief as staple items like potatoes and onions remain expensive.

On Saturday morning, a visit to several markets in Rajshahi revealed that while prices for some winter vegetables have come down, essential items like onions and potatoes remain steady. Currently, onions are selling at 140 taka per kg and potatoes at 60 taka per kg.

In comparison to last week's prices, some vegetables are cheaper:

  • Bitter gourd has dropped from 80 taka to 70 taka per kg.
  • Cauliflower has decreased from 60 taka to 55 taka.
  • Bottle gourd is down from 40 taka to 25 taka per kg.
  • Green chilies saw the most significant drop, going from 260 taka to 160 taka per kg.

According to vendors, prices have eased for several items compared to last week. However, for daily essentials like onions and potatoes, the high prices persist.

Buyers commented that although they welcome the slight reduction in some vegetable prices, they remain concerned about the unchanged cost of onions and potatoes, which are staples in everyday cooking.
