Khagrachari, Nov 06, (V7N) - A severe storm with strong winds and heavy rain caused significant damage in Khagrachari on Tuesday afternoon. The storm, which hit the area around 4:30 PM, led to fallen trees, damaged billboards, and broken power lines. Local authorities reported several incidents of destruction across the district.

The main road near Khagrachari bus terminal was blocked for about an hour as trees fell onto the road, preventing vehicles from moving. One of the trees fell onto the garage shed of the Khagrachari District Commissioner’s office, crushing several cars parked underneath. In the incident, Babul Tripura, 27, suffered a serious head injury and was rushed to the hospital. Fire service teams were quickly dispatched for rescue operations.

Meanwhile, in Mahalchhari upazila, a lightning strike claimed the life of one person and injured four others. Local authorities are still gathering information on the incident.
