Khulna, Nov 23 (V7N)- The last trial train has reached Khulna via Padma. The train arrived at Khulna station from Dhaka at 1:10 pm on Sunday (November 24) at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. This is the third trial of the trial train from Kamalapur in Dhaka to Khulna via Narail at 9:10 am with 12 coaches.
The passengers on the trial train were Railways Department Secretary Abdul Baki, Railways Director General Sardar Shahadat Hossain, Railways Western Region General Manager Mamunul Islam and senior officials.
When the train reached Khulna, Railways Department Secretary Abdul Baki and Railways Director General Sardar Shahadat Hossain were welcomed with flowers by the officials of Khulna Railway Station.
Railways Department Secretary Abdul Baki said, "First of all, we thank the passengers and the public of this region. They have been waiting for a long time. We have successfully completed three trials. We saw that it took three hours and 45 to 50 minutes. All our senior authorities and technical officers were present here. We plan to start commercial train services on this route in the first week of December."

Railways Director General Sardar Shahadat Hossain said, we have not yet finalized how many trains will run on the Dhaka-Khulna route via Padma. We have a shortage of sufficient coaches. We will have to coordinate the operation to meet the demand. We will try to provide maximum service to the people with our limited resources.
It is learned that the train will run at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour from Bhanga Junction in Faridpur to Padmabila Station in Jessore. The train is scheduled to run at a speed of 75 kilometers from Padmabila in Jessore to Khulna via Singia.
Commercial train operations are scheduled to begin on the Dhaka-Bhanga-Jessore-Khulna route under the Padma Rail Link Project in early December.
Earlier, the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project was partially opened on October 10, 2023. At that time, an 82-kilometer railway line from Dhaka to Bhanga in Faridpur was opened.
Now, 87 kilometers are being added from Bhanga to Jessore. This will provide direct connectivity to the 169-kilometer railway line from Dhaka to Jessore.
The train will go to Khulna from Dhaka via Padma Bridge, Bhanga-Narail-Jessore on the new railway line. The distance from Dhaka to Khulna will be reduced by the railway line.
Meanwhile, the news that the train will be launched on this route is causing excitement among the passengers and businessmen of the region.
