Sunamganj, Nov 29 (V7N)— Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel apprehended two individuals attempting to cross the Doarabazar border into India illegally on Friday morning (November 29). The arrests occurred near the Baganbari Border Outpost (BOP).

The arrested individuals have been identified as Md. Saiful Islam Sohag and Md. Shahid Mia.

Lieutenant Colonel Zakaria Qadir, commander of the 28th BGB battalion in Sunamganj, confirmed the incident. He stated that the duo was intercepted by a BGB patrol team while trying to cross the border, allegedly for smuggling purposes.

Following their capture, the two individuals were handed over to the Doarabazar police station for further legal proceedings.

Such operations reflect BGB's ongoing vigilance in preventing unauthorized border crossings and illicit activities along the Bangladesh-India border.
