Panchagarh, Dec 03 (V7N) — The northern district of Panchagarh, known for its chilly winters, is experiencing increasingly cold temperatures. Over the past week, the mercury has fluctuated between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius, making it one of the coldest regions in the country.

Despite light fog from evening to dawn, the sun shines as the day progresses, providing some relief. However, the proximity to the Himalayan glaciers contributes to the persistent cold air.

Jitendra Nath Roy, Senior Weather Observer at the Tentulia Meteorological Office, confirmed that Panchagarh recorded the country’s lowest temperature at 9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday morning. On Monday, the district also reported the nation’s lowest temperature at 10.9 degrees Celsius.

While the cold mornings and evenings bring a noticeable chill, daytime temperatures rise under clear skies, allowing residents to go about their daily activities. Still, as evening falls, the cold winds return, adding to the wintry atmosphere.

Panchagarh residents are bracing for more cold as winter progresses, with local authorities advising precautionary measures to stay warm during the colder nights.
