Shariatpur, Jan 09 (V7N) — The hanging body of Officer-in-Charge (OC) Al Amin was recovered from inside the Zajira Police Station complex in Shariatpur.
The body was found in his private room on the third floor of the police station building at around 1pm on Thursday.
Dr Monirul Islam, a doctor at the Shariatpur Police Lines Hospital, said: "The body was found hanging with a towel around the neck.”
He added: “Initially, it is suspected that OC Al Amin committed suicide. However, the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem."
Confirming the matter, Shariatpur Police Superintendent Nazrul Islam said: "Initially, it appears to be a case of suicide. Further confirmation will come after the post-mortem examination."
