Anwarul Islam passed away during treatment after being shot by terrorists from the Rohingya group in the Rahmat Bill neighborhood of Cox's Bazar. Relatives said he passed away after a protracted illness that lasted for one month and two days.

He is the son of Abdus Salam from Ukhiya's Palangkhali Union's Rehmat Bil village. There are three youngsters under Anwarul Islam's care: two girls and one boy.


On Thursday, March 7, at about 10 p.m., Anwar passed away in Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital while receiving medical care.

The veracity of this was confirmed by M Gafur Uddin Chowdhury, the UP Chairman of the Palongkhali Union of Ukhia.

He said that on February 6, Anwar suffered critical injuries as a result of gunfire from militants from the Rohingya group who had broken over the Palongkhali Union's Rahmat Bill boundary. Anwar has been receiving medical care at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital ever since. While receiving treatment last Thursday, at 10 p.m., Anwar passed away.
