RANGAMATI, March 6, (V7N) - Fuel sales suddenly stopped at local petrol pumps in Rangamati town on Friday evening without prior notice, causing severe suffering for motorcyclists, auto-rickshaw drivers, and ordinary citizens. From around 7:30 pm, pumps and retail shops across the city suspended sales, leaving long queues of vehicles waiting in vain.

Local sources reported that fuel tankers had entered Rangamati as recently as Thursday night, meaning adequate stock was available at the pumps. Despite this, sales were abruptly halted, raising questions among residents.

Citizens alleged that dishonest traders are deliberately creating an artificial crisis to put pressure on the government. They claimed that withholding sales despite sufficient reserves was a planned move.

Concerned residents have urged immediate intervention by the Rangamati district administration, calling for raids against those hoarding fuel and intentionally creating shortages.
