A fire broke out in a private jute mill in Rupsa, Khulna.12 units of fire service are working to control the fire.

In the jute warehouse of Salam Jute Mills in Rupsa Upazila, a big fire started. The owner claims that there has been a loss of about 100 crore rupees.

The Salam Jute Mills warehouse number three, which is situated at the intersection of Jabusa Chou Road, caught fire this morning at 5:13 a.m. The fire quickly spread to two other warehouses. Twelve fire department units are lending a hand in battling the fire. The organization's manager, Bashir Ahmed, stated that a mechanical issue with the first machine in warehouse number three caused a short circuit, which ignited the fire. The fire quickly moved to warehouses No. 1 and No. 2, as well.

The organization's owner, MMA Salam, informed reporters that the goods manufactured in the three warehouses weighed 750 tonnes and were believed to be worth 1.5 million taka, while the raw jute weighed 1300 tonnes and was valued at 20 crores.  He said that a total of around 100 crore rupees have been lost.
 
According to Farooq Hossain Shikder, Assistant Director of the Fire Service (Khulna), the Fire Service is making every effort to put out the fire.  Since the aforementioned Mills lacked a fire extinguisher system, he filed a complaint against the owner.  He stated that twelve units from the districts of Khulna, Rupsa, and Bagerhat are attempting to put out the fire as soon as they were informed about it.  The fire has not been brought under control till the writing of this report.
