Dr. Jamal Ahmed, founder of Hnila Gulfraz-Hashem Foundation, Teknaf, eminent cardiologist, is no more. He died at Dhaka United Hospital around 3 am on 15th April.
Dr. Jamal Ahmed's son. Salahuddin Jamal confirmed the news of death and said that he was suffering from kidney disease for some time. On April 12, Jamal Ahmed was brought back to the country after treatment in India and admitted to the United Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment there. His first funeral will be held at Chittagong Medical Hospital on Monday, after which his body will be offered funeral prayers at 10 am on Tuesday at his birthplace in Hnila,Teknaf Cox's Bazar Bangladesh
Note that Dr. Jamal Ahmed was Teknaf's first MBBS doctor. Later he gained quite a reputation as a cardiologist. In 1998, he established the Gulfaraz-Hashem Foundation in the name of his parents in his birthplace in Hnila, Teknaf Cox's Bazar. Through this foundation, it was his dream to spread the light of education in the area and build a healthy, educated and technology-dependent population.
