A severe drought is causing Rajshahi district in Bangladesh to burn in, salaat al-istisqa was presented by the worshippers as a rain prayer. The Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Divisional Stadium in Terokhadiya, Rajshahi city, was the location of this prayer.

The worshippers, meantime, were wailing furiously for the rain. The congregation met on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. It was attended by hundreds of worshippers from various locations who prayed for rain.

The imam gives the attendees the rules at the start of the prayer. Following that, the worshippers are praying while standing in a row. Leading it was Maulana Abul Kashem Faruqi. He later gave an Arabic sermon. In which he bemoans the oppressive heat and asks Allah to provide rain. Musalli from various locations participated in the prayer.

The nation's wellbeing, especially protection from natural disasters, is prayed for during this time.

Following the prayer, Maulana Abul Kashem Faruqi stated that the reason for rain and drought is due to human misdeeds, as evidenced by the Qur'an and hadiths. Our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) used to offer Istiska Namaz in the open with his Companions if it wasn't raining. In order to do it, they did two rakat prayers, confessed their misdeeds to the Almighty, begged for rain, and asked for pardon.
