Four candidates in Chhagalnaya upazila of Feni have been fined for breaching the code of conduct in the sixth upazila parishad election. The fines were imposed by a mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Md. Abdur Rahman on Saturday evening.
 
According to sources within the mobile court, several violations of the code of conduct were observed during an inspection of election campaign activities in Chagalnaiya Upazila Parishad. Executive Magistrate Abdur Rahman fined three chairman candidates and one female vice chairman candidate for their infractions.
 
The fined candidates include Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Majumdar, representing the cup-pearl symbol, Kazi Zayed Mohammad Golam Farooq, representing the telephone symbol, Md. Abdul Halim, representing the pineapple symbol, and artist Bibi Julekha of Kalas Pratik. They were each fined 10,000 taka, totaling 40,000 taka. The operation was assisted by a team from the Thana police.
 
Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Feni District Administration, Abdur Rahman, verified the authenticity of the fines imposed during the raid.
 
The sixth Upazila Parishad elections in Chhagalnaya upazila are scheduled for June 5, marking the fourth and final phase of the electoral process.
