Sylhet, June 27 (V7N)- The flood situation of Sylhet district in Bangladesh's has slightly improved. However, the water is receding slowly from the flooded areas. Although the water level in the Surma River has decreased, at two points in the Kushiyara River, the water was flowing above the danger level at 9 am on Wednesday.

Deepak Ranjan Das, Executive Engineer of the Sylhet Water Development Board, stated that since the rivers are filled with water, it is taking time for the floodwaters to recede. The situation will improve if there is no mountain runoff from India and if rainfall in Sylhet decreases.

According to sources from the Sylhet Water Development Board, at 9 am on Wednesday, the water level at the Kanaighat point of the Surma River was below the danger level. Previously, until 6 am, the water was above the danger level.
