Tangail, Aug 26 (V7N) - On Monday, August 26, the town witnessed a vibrant celebration of Janmashtami, the auspicious occasion marking the birth of Lord Krishna. The festivities commenced at 11 AM with a grand procession originating from the Big Kalibari Temple. The colorful procession navigated through key streets of the town, attracting attention from locals and visitors before returning to the temple.

The event featured the participation of several distinguished individuals, including Bir Muktijoddha Jibon Krishna Chowdhury, General Secretary of the Sri Sri Kalibari Temple Committee; Pradip Kumar Gun Jhantu, General Secretary of the District Puja Celebration Committee; and Suman Sarker, Organizing Secretary of the Big Kalibari Temple Committee. They were accompanied by other prominent Hindu religious leaders.

The procession was marked by traditional songs, dances, and a spirited display of devotion. Both men and women from the Sanatan Hindu community actively participated, contributing to the festive atmosphere. The event was well-organized, reflecting the deep cultural significance of Lord Krishna’s birth and fostering a sense of unity and celebration within the community.
