Cox's Bazar, Sep 05 (V7N) - Amid the ongoing conflict at the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, a member of the Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP), who had sought refuge at the Dumdumia border area in Teknaf, has passed away. The funeral for the deceased member was conducted today in Ramu, Cox's Bazar, following religious customs, with representatives from the Myanmar Embassy present.
 
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) issued a press release stating that due to the conflict in Myanmar, 124 BGP members had sought safety at the Bangladesh border. Lance Corporal Kwayaw Nanda, identified by ID number LA-249245, fell ill on July 28. After receiving initial treatment, his condition worsened, leading to his hospitalization first at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital and later at Chittagong Medical College Hospital for further treatment.
 
He passed away on August 3 from Septic Shock, Chronic Liver Disease, and Alcoholic Cirrhosis. Following the body preservation procedures, his funeral was held today, September 5.
 
The BGB emphasized that they are continuously vigilant given the current border situation and are prepared to address any adverse incidents while ensuring the nation's sovereignty is maintained.
