Oct 13 V7N -Bollywood star Alia Bhatt's latest film, "Jigra," earned Rs 4.55 crore net on its opening day at the domestic box office, as announced by the makers on Saturday. The film was released in theaters across India in both Hindi and Telugu on Friday and is directed by Vasan Bala, known for his previous works like "Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota" and "Monica, O My Darling."

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions in collaboration with Bhatt's Eternal Sunshine Productions, "Jigra" has received mixed reviews. Despite the lukewarm reception, the film's opening figures align with expectations, as it was projected to earn between Rs 4-5 crore on its first day.

The film features Vedang Raina alongside Alia Bhatt and tells an emotional story centered around the bond between a brother and sister. As the film continues its run, it will be interesting to see how it performs against competing releases and whether positive word of mouth can boost its box office collection in the coming days.
