BAGERHAT, Feb 21, (V7N) - Road Transport, Railways and Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam today said Bangladesh will move forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Speaking at a mass reception organized by the BNP Mollahat upazila unit at Nasukhali High School ground, the minister emphasized unity and cooperation for national welfare. “In a democracy, there will be opposition parties and competition. But revenge cannot be taken because of that. If someone commits crime, the state will take action against him,” he said.

He urged all political forces to work together despite differences, stressing that collective effort is essential for the country’s progress. Referring to development initiatives, Rabiul Alam said radical changes will be brought to the communication system through improvements in roads, railways, and waterways. He added that the government is committed to developing rural infrastructure, ensuring safe roads, and building a modern communication network.

The programme was chaired by BNP upazila unit President Sheikh Hafizur Rahman and conducted by General Secretary Md Harun Al Rashid. It was attended by BNP Central Executive Committee members Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Advocate Sheikh Wahiduzzaman Dipu, former Upazila BNP President Chowdhury Selim Ahmed, Bagerhat District BNP member Khan Monirul Islam, among others.
