Khulna, Nov 08 (V7N)- BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy called for the re-establishment of democracy in Bangladesh through a free, fair, and widely accepted election. Speaking as the chief guest at a rally organized by the Metropolitan BNP at the Shibbari intersection in Khulna city on Friday afternoon, Gayeshwar emphasized that meeting public demands for democratic reform is the interim government’s top priority, without which he believes the government risks failing in its duty.

Gayeshwar assured that BNP has extended its support to the interim government’s efforts to restore democratic norms from the outset and will continue to do so. However, he insisted that the government must heed public demands by arranging an election that genuinely reflects the will of the people as soon as possible.

Reflecting on past movements, Gayeshwar highlighted how the people have previously mobilized to oppose autocratic rule, pushing Sheikh Hasina out of office in their pursuit of fair elections and democratic integrity. His remarks underscore BNP’s commitment to upholding democratic values.

The rally, presided over by Metropolitan BNP Convener Shafiqul Alam Mona, culminated in a vibrant procession led by Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, which traversed major roads in Khulna city, underscoring the party’s commitment to democratic principles and the demand for credible elections.
