Jhalokathi, February 14, (V7N) - Tension prevails among leaders and activists in Rajapur, Jhalokathi, due to conflicting press conferences and counter-complaints related to the distribution of BNP leaflets.

On Thursday afternoon, BNP's central religious affairs secretary, Rofikul Islam Jamal, addressed a press conference at the Jhalokathi Press Club. He responded to the distribution of leaflets in Rajapur regarding Tariq Rahman's 31-point reform plan. Jamal stated that the individuals who distributed the leaflets in Rajapur were not real BNP members. He strongly denied the false accusations linking him to the incident, calling the claims made by these individuals entirely untrue.

Present at the press conference were Rajapur upazila president Advocate Abul Kalam Azad, former president of Jhalokathi Sadar Upazila BNP Sardar Enamul Haque Elin, district BNP advisory committee member and PP Advocate Maheb Hossain, acting president of the district Jubo Dal, Robiul Hossain Tuhin, district volunteer party chief Azadur Rahman, and leaders and activists from BNP and its affiliated organizations.

In the conference, Rofikul Islam Jamal further stated that the individuals who came to distribute the leaflets in Rajapur and Kathalia on February 11 and 12 were collaborators of Mir Jafar Shahjahan Omar. He identified these central leader impostors as American expatriate Selim Reza, retired Lt. Colonel Mostafizur Rahman, Zakaria Lincoln, Rezaul Karim, and former Chhatra Dal leader Golam Azam Soikat.

The leaders and activists from Rajapur-Kathalia have rejected these individuals, making it clear that the Rajapur BNP will not take responsibility for their actions.
