Mongla, Feb 16 (V7N) – A rally was held by the Mongla Municipal BNP on Saturday, demanding the implementation of a 31-point framework for restructuring the state and controlling rising commodity prices. The event, held at the Rimjhim square, was marked by harsh criticism of their former ally, Jamaat-e-Islami.
BNP leaders from Bagerhat and Mongla harshly criticized Jamaat, accusing them of being thieves, looters, and traitors. They recalled that during the Four-Party Alliance government, Jamaat leaders were allegedly killed in crossfire by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). Despite this, the leaders noted, Jamaat is now dreaming of coming to power and attempting to position BNP as the opposition party. They firmly stated that Jamaat’s aspirations of returning to power would never come true.
The BNP leaders expressed confidence that under Tarique Rahman’s leadership, BNP would take power in the future and urged all party members to work unitedly to implement the 31-point agenda.
The rally was attended by several notable figures including Bagerhat District BNP's Secretary Mojaffor Rahman Alam, Joint Convener Kamrul Islam Gora, Member Abdur Halim Khokon, Mongla Municipal BNP's Convener Mohammad Zulfikar Ali, Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Manik, and Joint Convener Emran Hossain.
