Dhaka, Mar 01 (V7N) – A new political party, National Citizens Party, has emerged under the leadership of young activists from the July-August Movement. A 151-member convening committee has been announced, with former Information Advisor Nahid Islam as the convener and Akhtar Hossain as the member secretary.

The announcement was made by Meem Akhtar, sister of martyr Mohammad Ismail Hossain Rabbi, who was killed in the July-August Movement, during an event at Manik Mia Avenue, Dhaka, on Friday (September 28). The remaining committee members were announced via an official notification.

The formation of Jatiya Nagorik Party marks a new political shift led by youth activists, with a strong emphasis on the legacy of the July-August Movement.
