Dhaka, Aug 7 (V7N) – Former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque was sent to jail following a 7-day remand in connection with a case involving illegal and forged verdicts filed at Shahbagh Police Station.

He appeared before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Saifuzzaman’s court on Thursday (August 7), with a lawyer representing him during the hearing.

The investigating officer informed the court that primary evidence has been found linking ABM Khairul Haque to illegal verdicts, including the controversial ruling on the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution case. Considering the ongoing investigation, the court ordered his detention in jail.
