Dhaka, Mar 31 (V7N)- Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has stated that there is no need for a formal ban on the Awami League, as the people have already rejected them. He emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant to ensure that no one betrays the sacrifices made in the July Movement.
On Monday (March 31), after performing the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman met with the families of those who lost their lives in the July-August movement. He personally inquired about their well-being and offered prayers for the deceased and the injured.
During his interaction, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman addressed the issue of genocide trials and the demand for banning the Awami League. He claimed that after 16 years, people are finally able to celebrate Eid with peace and ease.
Earlier, after offering Eid prayers, the Jamaat Ameer remarked that many parents are still shedding tears on this festive day. He insisted that those responsible for such suffering should be brought to justice and severely punished.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman reaffirmed his commitment to building a just and discrimination-free state, fulfilling the dream of those who sacrificed their lives during the July-August movement.
