Dhaka, Sep 28 (V7N) – National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has urged the government to take measures to ensure that people from the Hindu community can celebrate Durga Puja without any hindrance. He also reaffirmed that the NCP will work to guarantee the participation of all communities in the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections.
Nahid Islam made the remarks while visiting the Dhakeshwari National Temple on Sunday evening. He said that after the July uprising, the party aims to form a harmonious and inclusive Bangladesh, based on the unity of people from all religions, castes, and communities.
He noted that NCP leaders and activists at various levels are actively working as volunteers to promote unity and inclusivity. Nahid also acknowledged that while the interim government has attempted to address the demands of followers of traditional religions, some issues remain unresolved, and he urged the authorities to take further steps.
Highlighting the party’s commitment, Nahid said that the NCP’s election manifesto will focus on ensuring equal dignity for all citizens and protecting the rights of all communities.
