The driver and an assistant of the bus from Jhenaigati upazila in Sherpur district town were detained by Police on Friday night about a road accident that occurred earlier that day in the Alalpur region of Mymensingh district in Bangladesh, resulting in the deaths of seven persons.

The individuals apprehended were Zafar Mia Jony, 42, a son of Anisur Rahman of Mirganj, and Sirajul Islam, 45, a driver for the Adil Sarker Paribahan bus and the son of Habib Chan.

The bus driver and assistant from Bandhabhatpara in Sadar upazila were taken into custody by a police squad during a drive across the district, according to Basir Ahmed, the officer-in-charge of Jhenaigati Police Station. The arrests occurred at about 11:45 p.m.

Around 11 a.m. on Friday, the bus collided with a CNG-operated autorickshaw in Alalpur, Sadar upazila, Mymensingh district, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals.
