Dhaka, Jan 17 (V7N) — A fire that broke out at a warehouse in the Tannery Raw Market in Hazaribagh, Dhaka, has been successfully brought under control after nearly three hours of intense firefighting efforts. The blaze started at the Phoenix Leather warehouse on the fifth floor of a seven-story building at around 2:00 PM on Friday.
Eleven units of the Fire Service worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire, with the first two units arriving on the scene at 2:14 PM. Four more units joined the operation, and by 4:45 PM, the fire was brought under control.
According to Fire Service control room officer Rozina Akhter, the fire spread rapidly but was contained with swift action. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties, and all individuals trapped inside the building have been safely evacuated.
Hazaribagh Police Station's OC, Saiful Islam, confirmed that the situation was under control and that police personnel were on-site to assist in the evacuation process. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
