Gopalganj, Feb 22 (V7N) – A fatal road accident occurred in Kashiani Upazila when a Dhaka-bound Tungipara Express bus crashed into the back of a Sohag Paribahan bus, leaving two transport workers dead and 12 passengers injured.

The accident took place around 11 AM in front of Sampan Restaurant on Saturday (February 22).

Victims and Injuries

The deceased were identified as:

  • Arif, Supervisor of Tungipara Express
  • Montu, Driver of Tungipara Express

According to Kashiani Police, both men died on the spot due to the impact. Twelve injured passengers were immediately rushed to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

Cause of the Accident

Eyewitnesses and police sources indicate that the Tungipara Express bus, traveling from Dhaka, failed to control its speed and collided with the Sohag Paribahan bus ahead of it.

Law enforcement officers have secured the accident site, and an investigation is underway to determine whether reckless driving or mechanical failure contributed to the crash.
