Comilla, Mar 22 (V7N) – A tragic accident occurred in the early hours on Saturday when a Mamun Paribahan passenger bus traveling from Chapainawabganj to Noakhali collided with a mail train from Chittagong to Dhaka at the Paduar Bazar rail crossing in Comilla.
Twelve passengers were killed, including seven men, two women, and two children. At least 24 others were injured. Dr. Shahjahan, Superintendent of Comilla Medical College (CUMC) Hospital, confirmed the identities of the deceased:

Out of the 24 injured, 18 have returned home after receiving initial treatment, while four remain admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital. One patient is in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
State Minister for Railways and Roads, Habibur Rashid Habib, visited the site and assured strict action against those responsible. He also stated that the government is committed to modernizing rail crossings and reducing such accidents. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is monitoring the situation closely.
