On Saturday, in the Chandraganj Purba Bazar region under Begumganj upazila of the district, four people in a CNG-run autorickshaw were murdered in a head-on collision with a truck.
 
The three people who were recognised as deceased were army troops Fazlul Karim, 50, and Md. Alauddin, 45, who lived in the same region and were inhabitants of Latifpur village under the Candraganj Police station of Lakshipur district. The identity of the other person could not be known.
 
When the CNG-powered autorickshaw carrying a few passengers was travelling from Lakshmipur to Begumganj upazila, an accident happened. About 5:30 a.m. this morning, it was travelling when it crashed head-on with a truck travelling in the opposite direction.
 
The autorickshaw's driver was among the four people who perished instantly after the two cars plunged into a roadside canal, according to Chandraganj Highway Police officer-in-charge (OC) Ruhul Amin.
 
According to OC, police removed the bodies from the location.
