Dhaka, Oct 28 (V7N)- Law enforcement has detained four individuals in Dhaka’s Nawabganj Bazar for unlawfully stockpiling goods supplied by the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB). A significant quantity of TCB products was confiscated during a joint raid by army and police personnel on Sunday night.

The operation, based on a tip-off, was led by the 46th Independent Brigade of the army in coordination with Lalbagh police around 9 pm. During the search at Mohammad Shukur Ali Akond’s storage, officials discovered 650 bottles of soybean oil and 1,340 kg of lentils, collectively valued at approximately Tk329,000.

Two businessmen, Shah Alam and Arif Hossain, were arrested, along with two others held for questioning. Preliminary interrogations revealed the individuals' involvement in illegal storage practices. All suspects have since been transferred to Lalbagh Police Station for further legal action.

The ISPR emphasized the army's commitment to combating illegal activities and upholding law and order.
