Dhaka, Nov 3, (V7N) – The Home Ministry has ordered a major reshuffle in Bangladesh Police, transferring and reassigning 13 senior officers, including Additional Inspectors General of Police (Addl. IGPs), Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs), to various important police units, metropolitan forces and district commands.
The latest reshuffle brings changes to several important police commands, including SRB, Highway Police, Industrial Police, the Police Telecom Organization, CID, DMP, Gazipur Metropolitan Police and Rajshahi Range, alongside district police administrations in Nilphamari, Munshiganj, Jamalpur and Barguna.
The Public Security Division's Police-1 Branch issued two separate notifications, signed by Deputy Secretary Tauhif Ahmed. The notifications, issued in the public interest, stated that the transfer and posting orders would take immediate effect.
Under the first notification, seven senior officers received new assignments across the Police Headquarters, specialised police units and regional commands.
Md Ahsan Habib Palash, who was serving as Director General (Addl. IGP) of SRB, has been transferred to Police Headquarters as Additional Inspector General of Police. Faruk Ahmed, previously Additional IGP of Highway Police, has been appointed Director General (Addl. IGP) of SRB. Md Sayedur Rahman, who was serving as Additional IGP at Police Headquarters, has been posted to Highway Police as its Additional IGP. Gazi Jashim Uddin, Additional IGP of Industrial Police, has been transferred to the Police Telecom Organization at Rajarbagh as Additional IGP.
Md Israel Hawlader, formerly Police Commissioner (DIG) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), has been appointed Additional IGP of Industrial Police following his promotion to the rank. Meanwhile, Md Ashiq Sayeed, previously DIG of Rajshahi Range, has been appointed Police Commissioner (DIG) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police. Mir Ashraf Ali, DIG of Railway Police, has been transferred to Rajshahi Range as its new DIG.
In a separate notification, six officers holding the rank of Superintendent of Police have also received new postings.
Md Farhad Hossain Khan, SP of Nilphamari, has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as Special Superintendent of Police. Md Menhajul Alam, formerly SP of Munshiganj, has been appointed SP of Nilphamari. Md Badruddoza, Deputy Director (SP) at SRB, has been posted as SP of Munshiganj, with his earlier transfer order assigning him to Netrokona cancelled.
Mst Farhana Yasmin, SP of Jamalpur, has been transferred to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC). Md Kudrat E Khuda, formerly SP of Barguna, has been appointed SP of Jamalpur, while K M A Mamun Khan Chishti, who was serving as SP at SRB, has been posted as SP of Barguna.
The transfer and posting orders will take effect immediately, according to the ministry's notifications.
