Dhaka, Nov 13 (V7N)- Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman emphasized the need for the Corps of Signals members to prepare for the challenges of the 21st century by acquiring modern, relevant training.

As the chief guest at the Annual COs' and OCs' Conference of the Corps of Signals, held at the Signals Training Center and School (STC&S) in Jashore Cantonment, General Waker-Uz-Zaman acknowledged the Corps' proud legacy and its contributions to the nation’s defense.

During his address, the Army Chief also discussed important topics such as technological advancements, research, professional development, and the future direction of the Corps. Senior military officials from Army Headquarters, along with commanders of all signals brigades, were present for the event, according to an ISPR statement.

In addition to the conference, General Waker-Uz-Zaman laid the foundation stone for the 500-bed Army Medical College Hospital in Jashore Cantonment. Once completed, the hospital will offer improved healthcare for retired army personnel and their families, while also serving as a center for training future doctors, the release added.

Among those present were the GOC of ARTDOC, GOC of the 55 Infantry Division, senior officers from Army Headquarters, faculty members, students, and army personnel of various ranks.
