Dhaka, Dec 28 (V7N) — Foreign Affairs Advisor Towhid Hossain has stated that the Arakan Army has now taken control of almost 100 percent of the Myanmar border, making it impossible to discuss the return of the Rohingyas at this time. He further emphasized that the possibility of sending the Rohingyas back within the next two to six months remains highly unlikely.

Hossain made these remarks during a national dialogue organized at the Krishibid Institute in Dhaka on Saturday. He also referred to a recent meeting held in Bangkok with several countries, including Myanmar, where the Rohingya issue was not directly addressed. However, Bangladesh stressed the importance of resolving the crisis, as the situation continues to have a widespread impact on all parties involved.

Additionally, Hossain highlighted the critical role of political parties in safeguarding the country's principles, urging that it is the responsibility of the people to ensure political parties remain aligned with their core values. While often stated that "the country is bigger than the party," he pointed out that, in practice, the opposite often seems to occur.
