Dhaka, Dec 29 (V7N) — The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has announced special arrangements for taxpayers who are unable to register for the e-return filing system due to issues with obtaining biometric mobile SIMs. This measure aims to simplify the online return filing process and address the challenges faced by certain taxpayers.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the NBR clarified that individuals with national identity cards but lacking fingerprints for biometric SIM registration can still complete their e-return registration. Such taxpayers are required to visit the Second Secretary (Tax Information Management and Evaluation) at the NBR office, Room 717, during weekly office hours and submit a written application.
The NBR expressed its gratitude to taxpayers, including the nearly one million individuals who have already filed their income tax returns online. It also urged all taxpayers to utilise the online system to file their returns by the extended deadline of January 31, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
This initiative reflects the NBR's commitment to enhancing taxpayer convenience and expanding the accessibility of its e-return platform.
