Dhaka, Jan 09 (V7N) — After a two-hour blockade, protesting BDR victims' families left Shahbagh, issuing an ultimatum before traffic resumed.
They returned to Shahid Minar around 3:15pm on Thursday.

Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Mahin Sarkar, confirmed that while they left Shahbagh, the sit-in at Shahid Minar would continue.

He said that if the government did not make a declaration within two hours, it would be responsible for any unpleasant situation.

Earlier, at 1:30pm, family members of those involved in the BDR carnage and arrested "innocent jawans" held a protest at Shahid Minar, demanding their release and reinvestigation.

They later marched to Shahbagh, overcoming police barriers, where riot police were on alert.

The protesting families have also condemned the ongoing mockery of the BDR carnage case trials, calling for the release of all prisoners and the cancellation of false charges.

These demands were raised during a press conference at Shahid Minar.
