Dhaka, Jan 19 (V7N)— The interim government has sanctioned a grant of Tk 1.5 billion for the treatment of those injured during the July Uprising. The financial assistance comes from the 2024-25 fiscal year's budget, under the "Unexpected Expenditure Management Sector" of the Finance Department.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs disclosed this information in an official letter sent to the Chief Accounts and Finance Officer on Wednesday. The allocation aims to support injured individuals and the families of martyrs affected by the uprising.
According to the allocation details:
Category A: 1,000 people will receive Tk 2 lakh each, totalling Tk 20 crore.
Category B: 3,000 people will be granted Tk 1 lakh each, amounting to Tk 30 crore.
Category C: 4,000 individuals will also receive Tk 1 lakh each, totalling Tk 40 crore.
Category D: 7,000 people will be given Tk 50,000 each, amounting to Tk 35 crore.
The grant aims to ensure proper medical care and financial support for those affected during the uprising. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to addressing the needs of citizens impacted by the turmoil.
