Md Monirul Islam, the Special Branch Chief of Police and Additional Inspector General, has been re-elected as the President of the Bangladesh Police Service Association (BPSA), while Golam Mostofa Rashel, Superintendent of Police in Narayanganj, has been elected as its General Secretary.
The elections took place unopposed during the 42nd annual general meeting (AGM) of the association held at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Auditorium last night. The newly elected committee will serve the association for the next two years.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Chief Advisor of the association, Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, graced the occasion as the chief guest, with Md Monirul Islam presiding over the event.
Addressing the gathering, the IGP emphasized the significant role of the police service association in addressing professional issues and urged all police personnel to carry out their duties with responsibility and professionalism.
The event was attended by additional inspector generals, heads of various police units, and members of the association. Md Asaduzzaman, the incumbent General Secretary of BPSA and Police Super of Dhaka District, delivered the welcome address and conducted the program.
