Dhaka, Feb 15 (V7N) – A total of 354 proposals, including land management reforms, law and order improvements, and strengthening local government institutions, have been included in the agenda of this year's Deputy Commissioners' Conference, said Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Senior Secretary of the Cabinet Division.

Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat on Saturday (February 15) afternoon, he provided details about the conference, which will be held from February 16 to 18.

Conference Overview and Key Discussions

The Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, will inaugurate the conference at his office on Sunday (February 16). The event will include:
30 general sessions
4 special sessions
Participation from 56 ministries, departments, and organizations

The estimated budget for the conference is Tk 1.7 crore.

Implementation of Past Decisions

Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid noted that from 381 short, medium, and long-term decisions made during the 2024 conference,

  • 177 decisions have been fully implemented
  • 204 are under implementation

However, he acknowledged that some infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges, have not been implemented due to their association with individuals aligned with the previous government’s philosophy.

Emphasis on the July Mass Uprising Spirit

The Cabinet Secretary emphasized that this year's Deputy Commissioners’ Conference will uphold the spirit of the July mass uprising, reflecting the government’s commitment to reform and progress.
