Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized the importance of maintaining building codes and taking action against food stockpiling across the country during the inauguration of the four-day DC Conference-2024 at the Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

She urged all concerned, particularly field-level administration, to ensure strict adherence to building codes in every construction project nationwide. Highlighting the significance of safety measures such as fire extinguishing management and rain harvesting systems, she underscored the need for compliance with building regulations.

Expressing gratitude to the Dhaka district administration for their prompt response to the fire incident at the Bailey Road Building, the Prime Minister directed that building codes must not be breached in any part of the country.

Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain and Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain also addressed the inaugural function, along with prime minister's Principal Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah and Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka Md Sabirul Islam.

The event saw the participation of ministers, secretaries from various ministries and divisions, and discussions on pertinent issues. A video documentary showcasing the innovation and development of local administration was also screened.

Prime Minister Hasina reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring public service and sustainable development, urging all stakeholders to work towards building a prosperous and progressive Bangladesh.
