Dhaka, Feb 23 (V7N) – For the first time in Bangladesh, people will be able to pay zakat through a mobile app, said Religious Advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain at the Zakat Fair held at Aloki Center in Gulshan on Sunday morning.

He emphasized that zakat plays a crucial role in reducing crime and poverty, stating that proper zakat collection and distribution can significantly improve social welfare.

“If zakat is collected properly, poverty will be eradicated, and various crimes will decrease. A well-managed zakat system can lead to economic prosperity, eliminating the need for IMF loans,” he said.

Dr. Khalid Hossain also praised the Center for Zakat Management for its efforts in organizing the fair and encouraging structured zakat collection and distribution.

The new mobile app for zakat payment is expected to provide a more accessible, transparent, and efficient method for individuals to fulfill their religious obligations, ensuring that funds reach those in need effectively.
