Dhaka, Feb 24 (V7N) – The European Union (EU) has publicly expressed its full support for the Chief Justice's judicial independence and reform initiatives in Bangladesh. The EU Delegation in Bangladesh issued an official statement on its Facebook page, reaffirming its commitment to an independent and effective judiciary.

EU’s Statement on Judicial Reforms

The EU’s statement reads:
“The EU supports the independence and effectiveness of the judiciary in Bangladesh. The Supreme Court of Bangladesh is working with UNDP. We stand with our partners. We stand for universal values. We stand with the Chief Justice and the reform objectives of the interim government.”

Seminar on Judicial Independence

The statement follows a regional seminar titled ‘Judicial Independence and Efficiency in Bangladesh’, held on February 22 at the Mymensingh Zilla Parishad Auditorium. The event was jointly organized by the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and UNDP Bangladesh.

The seminar brought together judicial officers from various districts in Mymensingh Division. Among the notable attendees were:
