Rajshahi, Feb 24 (V7N) – Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul has admitted that there is a lack of sincerity in resolving the ongoing situation in Bangladesh. He made this statement at a workshop on law enforcement, human rights, and the environment held at the PTI conference room in Rajshahi on Monday.

Challenges in Law Enforcement

Dr. Asif Nazrul pointed out that the government is working on rebuilding several damaged institutions, with the police force being a key focus.

"Fragility is observed in all aspects of the force, starting from recruitment. While governance has faced failures in several areas, efforts are being made to address these issues sincerely," he stated.

Fascist Influence and Lawlessness

He alleged that "supporters of fascism are attempting to destabilize the country by spending crores of taka." He further added that while some of these individuals have fled the country, many remain inside Bangladesh, working to disrupt stability.

IGP Warns Against Destabilization Efforts

Earlier at the same event, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam said that certain groups are actively trying to create instability in Bangladesh.

"They do not want stability in the country and are making continuous efforts to incite disorder. However, the government is prioritizing human rights while working to restore law and order," he stated.

The IGP also highlighted that "Operation Devil Hunt" is underway, successfully apprehending key criminals involved in destabilization attempts.
