Dhaka, Mar 15 (V7N) – To ensure a smooth journey for Eid-ul-Fitr travelers, online ticket sales for intercity trains have begun. Advance ticket sales for March 25 started at 8 AM on Saturday, while tickets for March 24 were available from Friday.
Tickets for intercity trains in the western zone of the railway were released in the morning, while ticket sales for the eastern zone are set to begin at 2 PM. The total number of train seats available for Eid travelers departing from Dhaka this year stands at 35,935.
Unlike previous years, no tickets are being sold at the counters of Kamalapur Railway Station, eliminating the need for passengers to wait in long queues.
On the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr ticket sales, Dhaka Railway Station Manager Shahadat Hossain reported that between 8 AM and 8:30 AM on Friday, 15,773 tickets were sold against two million online requests. He stated that ticket sales for the western zone began at 8 AM, while eastern zone ticket sales started at 2 PM, with no reported issues or complaints.
Railway authorities are optimistic that the online ticketing system will provide a hassle-free booking experience for Eid travelers this year.
